The Beard Club's No Shave November Impact

The Beard Club's No Shave November Impact

The depths of autumn are upon us and for men everywhere that can only mean one thing – it’s beard season. Growth is in the air and it’s the perfect time to start growing that beard you’ve been aching to let flow. The upcoming month jump starts the holidays early with increasingly popular events like No Shave November and Movember. These two movements are very important for the men’s community at large.

What is No Shave November?

The No-Shave November goal is to: “Grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.

What is Movember?

Movember also tackles some health and awareness issues. It works towards raising awareness and funding for mental health, cancer, and suicide. Movember’s goal is to: "We’re the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year round. We’re addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. We know what works for men, and how to find and fund the most innovative research to have both a global and local impact. We're independent of government funding, so we can challenge the status quo and invest quicker in what works. In 13 years we’ve funded more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world."

Preparing for beard season

So if you're ready to dive in and help a good cause, then throw the razors in the trash and get to growing. And don't forget to stock up on some good beard products that will make the process easier. Far too many begin growing out their facial hair during No Shave November just to quit after dealing with beard itchiness, patches and unkempt growth stages.  “Deciding to let your beard bloom is a big deal. You need to take care of your facial hair. We wanted to use this upcoming bearded season as an opportunity to help our fellow brothers grow into new men by letting their whiskers flow. And hopefully help them continue that growth for a very long time!” – Christopher Stoikos, Founder of The Beard Club We’ve done our part on the cultural end of things. For example, a recurrent theme in many of The Beard Club’s viral videos has been the idea of combatting “bearded oppression.” With an entertaining mix of satire and sincerity, we’ve been leading the charge on the way society views professionality and beardedness.

The Beard Club’s Impact on the bearded holidays

In many areas of professional life there is still a negative cultural stigma attached to beards. The Beard Club’s mission has been to provide quality grooming care to all men and pave the way for a new cultural vision. Beard lengths that range from closely cropped stubble to long flowing chest-length beards all require the same thing – care and cleanliness.    Beards are a natural biological expression of man. More men are realizing that they can grow their beards to any length and keep them groomed and looking great. The bearded holiday seasons are also a time to experiment with different styles if you already have a beard. Maybe you’ve had your beard for quite some time and want to switch it up. Try out the full mustache look for a while as your beard grows back in. For those growing out their newborn locks, first go with the No-Shave look followed by a carefully tailored mustache. By the end of the month you’ll be able to make the decision on what style you want to go with. The excitement of Movember is that it is based on a strong community. Nowhere is that more prevalent than our already existing community of bearded brothers. Our fathers, brothers and friends all face potential health crises that aren’t talked about in open. By addressing these issues we tackle them the only way men can, head on and out in the open. The movements have taken on a global scale and funded thousands of health projects around the world. It is up to us to keep it rolling and be part of something bigger than ourselves or our beards!
