The Perfect Routine for Beards in the Morning

The Perfect Routine for Beards in the Morning

How you start your mornings, can help set the rest of your day in line. Everybody has different morning rituals. Your beard routine is an important aspect of that early morning grind. For some, their morning routine might be a quick shower and dry and they’re on their way. Others might be the sleep in type and get to their beard grooming later on. When it comes to grooming your beard for the rest of the day, morning grooming of some kind is an absolute necessity. Some routines are a lot better than others. Paying a little extra attention to the beard in the morning will give the facial fuel you need to look and feel great. This schedule will help you save time, get rid of unruly beard bedhead formations and take on the day in style!

Weird things your beard does in the morning

People think they've got it bad when bedhead strikes. Imagine a three dimensional mess on your face when you wake up. There are some strange things that our beards do on a daily basis.

Sticking Out Everywhere

The longer your beard gets, the more added dimensions there are that you have to deal with. Curls at the bottom of your beard that grow out too thin and long can be an annoyance. These ringlets of distress outwardly stretch and then curl inwards. A type of problem like this can be best dealt with through copious amounts of combing and a healthy sprout of beard oil. At times it can become even more difficult and you'll have to revert to a quick rinse off.Be wary of brushing too hard or you may rupture some new growth. Unless you're going for a pirates point then you'll want to have a full equal faced look. Here’s a few tips for quick morning grooming without taking a shower.
  • Simply run your hands through the bottom of your beard gently and separate the hairs.
  • Brush a slightly watered down and oil filled beard.
  • Make sure to trim any stragglers with a brush.

Dry and brittle beard hairs

There is nothing worse than a frayed beard. It can be avoided before it starts by changing the way you sleep or what you sleep on. That’s right. Less morning last minute scrambles here! Silk pillowcases and sheets are going to be your new best friend. They’re also great for the hair on top of your head as well. Fray can also be eliminated by being careful on how you dry your beard. If you shower right before bed, try not to rub the beard follicles to hard with either you towel or blankets. Sometimes this dryness can move on over to your mustache. A wiry mustache that droops into your mouth isn’t something you want to deal with. Always make sure to cut these hairs on your mustache. This is the fastest growing area on your face, so don’t worry if you mess up – it’ll be growing back soon enough.   Mustache wax in the morning is another option too. If you don’t feel like ever trimming your mustache, you can always just give it a good hard parting with wax and put it to the side. Finally, here’s an all purpose step-by-step guide for combing in the morning either with or without a shower.
  1. Start with your comb.
  2. Begin from the sideburns and thread that baby completely down to chin's end.
  3. Once this is completed on one side continue to go through the middle. Complete on the other side.
  4. Now this may looked frayed, but that's where the brush comes in push everything together.
